David Grove founded Vaquero Capital in 2011 to serve private Saas, Internet/mobile & data companies throughout their lifecycle has over 19 years experience advising companies on capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. His experience includes Internet, mobile, software, SaaS, semiconductors, energy, and IP. David has advised on over 30 transactions at Vaquero and over 85 transactions in his career. His clients have included Allegro, DrillingInfo, Dealer-FX, Irth Solutions, Kony, Manta Media, HomeAway, Alchemy Systems, Zillow, StreetEasy, Bazaarvoice, Dachis/Sprinklr, Brightcove, TechMediaNetwork, Motricity, ReachLocal, DTS, Monotype Imaging, Lexar Media, and DivX. He has worked on transactions with many leading investor partnerships, including Insight Venture Partners, Accel/KKR, Bain Capital, Benchmark Capital, Austin Ventures, TCV, Greycroft, ABS, Oak Investments and Redpoint Venture Partners. David was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and has lead the Internet & Digital Media groups at multiple middle market firms. He began his investment banking career at Cowen & Co. and served as a corporate attorney in the Corporate Securities practice of Andrews & Kurth, LLP in Texas. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Stefan Gerhard has over 17 years experience advising public and private companies on a wide range of mergers & acquisition transactions. He has advised on over $80 billion of transactions for clients across various sectors, including software and digital media. Stefan has worked with a many high profile companies and investor groups, including Tibco, Symantec, Sirenza MicroDevices, Hummingbird, Hellman & Friedman, General Atlantic, GTCR, Golden Gate Capital, Insight Ventures. Prior to joining Vaquero, Stefan led Nomura Securities’ Technology Banking practice and was a Managing Director at Bank of America focused on Technology M&A. He began his technology banking career at Chase H&Q in San Francisco. Stefan holds a B.S. in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School.
Bryan Payne joined Vaquero Capital as an Associate in 2015. Prior to that, Bryan was an Associate at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, where he focused on securities, financial fraud and business litigation. Bryan received his B.B.A. and Master in Professional Accounting degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, earning university honors. While earning his graduate degree, Bryan worked at a Big Four accounting firm then received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he graduated cum laude. While at Hastings he was Vice President of the Association of Communications, Sports and Entertainment Law, and received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence.
Terry Jiang works on financial modeling and supports transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, he worked as an analyst at Martin Wolf Global M&A Advisors. Terry graduated from the University of California San Diego with a B.S. in Management Science and a minor in Accounting.
Sam Hamilton works as a financial analyst supporting the team through modeling, transaction execution and sector research. Sam interned with Duff & Phelps and UBS Wealth Management during college. Sam graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
Jesse Beamish is an analyst, supporting the team through financial modeling and transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, Jesse was a intern at FTI Consulting where he worked in their Corporate Finance department. Jesse also completed the Vaquero Internship program in the fall of 2016. Jesse was a 4 year hockey player at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with a B.A. in Economics.
Parixit Bhakta is a financial analyst supporting the team through financial modeling, transaction execution, and sector research. Prior to Vaquero, Parixit interned for Bank of America Merrill lynch. Parixit received a B.B.A. in Finance, with honors, and a B.S.A. in Mathematics, with high honors, from The University of Texas at Austin.
Shaaz Lalani is an Analyst for Vaquero supporting the team through modeling, transaction execution and sector research. Prior to joining Vaquero, Shaaz interned with Oppenheimer & Co. where he worked in their investment banking group. Shaaz completed his B.B.A. in Finance along with a minor in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin, earning university honors.
Josh Hartley is an Analyst, supporting the team through modeling, sector research, and transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, Josh was an intern at PCI Group where he worked with their investment team. Josh was a Division I hockey player at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with a B.A.
Joilene Grove handles all aspects of Vaquero’s legal and compliance matters. Prior to joining the firm, she worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto and as Vice President of Legal at Seven Post, a registered investment advisory firm. She started her legal career at Winstead in Houston and also spent several years at the California Bar Foundation. Joilene graduated from New York University School of Law in 1997 and the University of Texas at Austin cum laude with a degree in English Honors in 1994.
Yolanda Yee has over 11 years of experience in office management and executive administration, including from Merriman Curhan Ford and most recently Global Leveraged Capital. Yolanda is a San Francisco native with a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University.
